GENIVI Alliance is happy to announce the availability of the first release candidate of the GENIVI Demo Platform GDP-ivi 9. You can download it from the GDP Download page. Follow the instructions to run this new version or to build it yourself from scratch.

GDP is the Open Source demo platform developed by GENIVI and its members for automotive. GDP targets software engineers interested in the development of FLOSS for this sector. Like the previous beta release, this first release candidate is based on GENIVI Baseline 9.0.1. Wayland, weston and wayland-ivi-extension have been updated to 1.9.0. There have been non-backwards-compatible API changes in wayland-ivi-extension.

The GDP delivery team welcome contributions, especially by testing this release candidate and providing bug reports, following common practices among Open Source software communities. If you are interested in building your application on top of GDP, feel free to contact us though our open channels.

During the coming weeks, the GDP Delivery Team, together with the GENIVI community, will focus their efforts in delivering GDP images for the different target boards: Renesas Porter/Silk, Intel Minnowboard and Raspberry Pi 2. If you are interested in porting to other boards or further details about the upcoming GDP releases, please check the Roadmap page.
