GENIVI hosts a suite of Open Source Projects that focus on non-differentiating elements of the software stack of an In-Vehicle Infotainment system.

These elements form a reusable software foundation for the efficient development of unique automaker and supplier offerings.

A detailed overview of GENIVI Alliance deliverables and Alliance Member Benefits may be found in the GENIVI Resource Kit.

All GENIVI Open Source Projects operate as a Community using Open-Source best-practices, where contributors are welcome and discussions are encouraged.
For the Mailing Lists you can just sign up and for contributing to this Wiki and to Issue tracking you are welcome to create an account (for both JIRA and Confluence).

Additional information is available for the motivation and process of the projects, as well as the full project listing.

GitHub and git migration
This blog post is designed as a central place information on the GENIVI repo transition from git.projects.genivi.org to GENIVI's GitHub account https://github.com/genivi and to a new GENIVI-hosted git mirror and archive.  This post is for the "how" of the migration, not the "why". You can also view these email threads for reference and background: http://lists.genivi.org/pipermail/genivi-projects/2016-April/002039.html http://lists.genivi.org/pipermail/genivi-projects/2016-April/002039.…
Intel Minnowboard joins the GDP-ivi9 family. In terms of delivery, one of the biggest challenges in Linux based systems is to provide a simple way to use and test middleware. GDP targets that problem for automotive, and to do so, providing images for common boards becomes a requirement to succeed. Back in April 19th, GENIVI Alliance released a new version of its Development Platform, GDP-ivi9, including ports to Renesas Porter and Raspberry Pi 2, together with QEMU.…
The GENIVI Alliance is happy to announce the release of the new version of its demo platform, GDP-ivi9. GDP http://projects.genivi.org/gdp is the Open Source demo platform including the middleware software components developed by the GENIVI Alliance. GDP-ivi9 http://projects.genivi.org/gdp/gdp9 targets software engineers interested in the development of FLOSS for automotive. You can download this new release from the GDP Download page http://projects.genivi.org/gdp/download.…
You may have noticed that the GDP team recently made the first release of the Genivi Demo Platform (GDP) on Genivi 9 for QEMU. I am happy to announce I have just pushed support for it on the Renesas R-Car M2 Porter board to the mailing list http://lists.genivi.org/pipermail/genivi-projects/2016-March/001584.html and it should appear in the GDP git repository soon. This first Beta release will help members prepare their Hands On Training on the Porter board for the upcoming Paris AMM.…
GENIVI's mission is well-known; it's about bringing a thriving ecosystem of Open Source software to the automotive industry. This is often easier said than done. While there are no shortage of GENIVI members with considerable expertise in automotive software development, the work of getting production quality specifications and standards into the broader marketplace of the Open Source community is sometimes not as straight-forward as designing a protocol or component.…
GENIVI Alliance http://www.genivi.org/ is happy to announce the availability of the first release candidate of the GENIVI Demo Platform GDP-ivi 9 http://projects.genivi.org/gdp/gdp9. You can download it from the GDP Download page http://projects.genivi.org/gdp/download. Follow the instructions to run this new version or to build it yourself from scratch.   GDP http://projects.genivi.org/gdp is the Open Source demo platform developed by GENIVI and its members for automotive.
